Study circles – the pathway to service

One of the major recommendations that Bahá'u'lláh has given to individuals is that of reading the Holy Writings every morning and evening. In the Kitab-i-Aqdas (The Most Holy Book), He says: "Recite ye the verses of God every morning and evening. Whoever fails to recite them has not been faithful either to the covenant of God or to His will, and whoever in this day turns away from these sacred verses, is of those who from all eternity has turned away from God".

To achieve this, the Bahá'ís hold regular study circles to absorb the habit of daily reading of the Sacred Writings. Reflecting on these writings allows us to apply them in our personal, family and social life. These forces are capable of transforming the individual and society and eventually lead to world peace.

Furthermore, through study circles, the participants gain spiritual insight, knowledge, and capacity for service. The study materials are arranged in a series of courses that enable the Bahá'ís to perform service to society at increasingly more complex levels. There are currently more than five thousand study circles in operation in the country.
